Burlington runs from the lakeshore up to the escarpment, and its housing follows a pattern Oakville would recognise: older homes near the water and downtown, post-war streets through the middle, and newer subdivisions towards Highway 407. It is a short drive from our base, which makes it an easy place for us to reach.
What homes in Burlington tend to need
- Homes close to the lake take more wind and weather, so exterior preparation and coating choice matter more there
- Split-levels and bungalows from the 1960s and 70s often have dated panelling or trim that paints beautifully once properly primed
- Open-plan homes in Alton Village and nearby usually run one colour through several rooms, so the choice has to work in all of them
- Stipple ceilings are still common in older homes and are often the first thing owners want gone
